DECOREX INTERNATIONAL 2015 AT SYON PARK

This year Decorex International, London’s famous trade show for design professionals, united again designers and suppliers with the aim to highlight the latest high-end luxury products and connecting people. Like every year, the event showcased an extensive number of exhibitors, who beautifully displayed their ultimate creations. During my visits, I was pleased to discover among the abundance of exhibitors the Future Heritage and Making Luxury areas which I found particularly inspiring.

Future Heritage - Penumbra sculpture by Enemark and Tompson

Future Heritage - Centre Table by Chenbo Shi who combines the art of furniture making with sculpture to create distinctive shapes

Making Luxury - De Gournay artist hand painting wallpapers

Among the “new” names of this year’s show is one of my favourite product designers, Bethan Gray, who displayed her outstanding Private Collection as well as other new creations. All her products are handmade in London, of exquisite natural materials and textures tastefully ornated with studs or Brogue detailing.

Worth mentioning here the amazing work of Iksel Decorative Arts which combines tradition with sophisticated digital technology to create stunning and versatile wallpapers, trompes-l’oeil and decorative panels in a neo-classic style with an Oriental touch.

My love for Scottish woolens was fulfilled when I visited the Green Grove Weavers and Johnston of Elgin stands. Both exhibitors presented beautiful contemporary designs made of luxurious merino wool, cashmere or mohair, inspired by traditional craftsmanship and the fascinating landscapes of the Scottish Highlands.

The show displayed a profusion of beautiful decorative lighting and accessories combining remarkable materials from crystal, coloured Murano glass, textiles or feathers. Here, I bring you my curated selection of unique pieces that caught my attention:
